In September 2007 a mass was found in my right eye during a trip to the opthalmologist. It was diagnosed as intraocular MELANOMA. There is nothing else to say but that I had the best treatment I could ever imagine at Emory Eye Center in Atlanta, GA. My doctor treated me with radioactive plaque therapy. Things there could never have gone any more smoothly for me. Today, I have been cancer free just about TWO YEARS. I give all thanks to God for looking out for me as He always has!!
I am a SURVIVOR. Through this site I intend to learn more to help me in my fight to STAY cancer free. Any chance to meet others who have been where I am just inspires me. This is a place to be around like-minded people who are committed to being happy and healthy!
“I get up. I walk. I fall down. Meanwhile, I keep dancing.”~ Rabbi Hillel ~ . . . . . . . This quote affected me perhaps more than any other in my life. It brought tears to my eyes, literally, the moment I read it. I felt it described me so completely. My advice to anyone would be to never give up and to embrace whatever may come in this dance of life. DANCE for joy! DANCE through the tears! DANCE when you don’t feel you want to. DANCE when you feel the rhythm. DANCE when you are empty and you think you can feel nothing. Embrace life, persevere and keep on going.
