My Experience with Cancer

I was diagnosed in January ’08 with stage 3b squamus cell carcinoma of the lungs. I did chemo and radiation and as of now, I am in remission. It was inoperable because it was in my mediastinum as well as both lungs. There is no more cancer in my lungs, and the tumor in my mediastinum has shrunk from 4.1 centimeters to 1.2 centimeters. Hopefully it will continue to shrink. Along with the chemo and radiation, I did natural medicine, fish oil, vit c, herbal mushrooms, zeolite, and a few others. Update: I went to my oncologist on November 26, 2009, after my ct scan, he said my tumor is GONE!!!!!! Thank God!!! All thats left to watch are 2 lymph nodes in my chest that are inlarged. But he doesn’t think its anything to worry about. I am very greatful to my Drs. for all they have done, but I am also greatful for natural remedies because I feel like they played a very important role in getting to where I am. I did not get sick during treatment like some do, and the after effects of radiation and chemo aren’t as bad as others that I have met. I had 35 radiation treatments and I had vp16 and cisplatin, as well as carboplatin chemo treatments, they lasted from 6 to 9 hours a day, 4 days a week. My Dr. told me that I would be wasting my money on herbs and vitamins, although he did tell me to take a daily multiple. But, I believe that God put everything we need to heal our bodies right here on earth, and if we nourish our bodies properly, our bodies WILL heal themselves. I took beta glucans, IP6, AHCC, vitamin C, Vitamin D, turmuric, probiotics, fiber, chlorophyll, omega 3 fish oil (oil, not capsules), garlic, green power, mico-immune, L-glutamine, and advanced zeolite. Besides detoxing my body, I believe truely, without a doubt that what most helped me was the fiber. Because it kept my bowels moving better than normal, so it helped remove the poisonous chemicals from chemo out of my body alot faster.

I love to read,…. my favorite authors include John Steinbeck, Wally Lamb, and Karen Kingsbury. I also like to craft,… nothing in particular, I just like to make things.

My Kind of People

I like down to earth people, who can laugh at a bbq, have a good time and go to a dinner theater and be just as comfortable.

Reason for Being Here

I’d like to meet people who have been or are going through what I’ve been through with this cancer. For hope, and maybe new treatment options should I need them in the future.

Words of Wisdom

Don’t worry about yesterday, and don’t fret on tomorrow. Today is all we really have, so live it like there is no tomorrow. And be greatful for what you DO have.
