Got an email from my brother a few years ago saying that he had gotten a colonoscopy and I should too. Woke up to the news that I had advanced colon cancer and needed to see a surgeon right away. Found out it had metastasized to lymph and liver. Two operations and 14 months of chemo and I’m fine.
Reading, cooking, socializing, and mushrooms. My knowledge of medicinal mushrooms helped a lot. Check out Grifola frondosa, it attacks tumors and tastes good too.
I am a voracious reader of everything. I read all of Michner’s tomes in recovery and a lot of other braincandy.
Eclectic tastes. Some classical, some world music. Not much into rap, hip-hop or country, tho I liked the old time songs from O’ Brother Where Art Thou. If I like it I like it.
I find the majority of movies to be pretty bad, but there are some I really like. Bend it like Beckham and Monsoon Wedding are two with Indian plots that are good. Diva, Amelie, and the Gleaners are three French favorites.
Upbeat, quick, smart and thoughtful of others.
Share information and support. To read about what others are facing and offer advice or support where I can.
We need to legalize medical marijuana now! It helps tremendously with chemo sickness and you shouldn’t have to be criminal nor ask others to commit a criminal act to help you. Find out the facts and contact your representatives to get this legislation passed.

Upbeat optimist. Ex cop and military. Entrepreneur. Had a million dollar business that I had to sell when I got diagnosed. Unfortunately, the buyer bankrupted it and I’m still owed a considerable sum. Had a good idea when I was recuperating and I’m working on it now. I’m married and have two grown kids and one grandchild.
