This is the hardest part for me. My son was diagnosed with cancer when he was 21. I am a very private person. I want to know about others, but am not so quick to give myself to them. Discussing my feelings about dealing with his cancer is a very sensitive issue, however, I feel I could be of support to other Mom’s in this position. I do not know what it is like to actually be the one diagnosed, but I do know what it feels like to be a parent in this position.
Yoga!!!! My newest passion and reading and knitting. I love animals and have some, so I guess you could say they are my lifelong hobby and most favorite.
I actually read almost everything. I can never be without a book, even if I only read one paragraph a day. I go from murder mysteries to historical novels. I never found time to read while I was raising my family, but as soon as my son started spending soooooo many hours in the hospital, it became my escape. I would sit for hours and hours with him and while he slept I read.
Anything by “you know who”!
My favorite movies are Camelot, Romeo and Juliet and Man of La Mancha, and also Flower Drum Song.
Anyone I give my cell phone number to.
To pick up the pieces others can’t carry and to make the journey more pleasant…..
Sometimes you need to look at the big picture….and sometimes you don’t!
