  • Founded in 1978 by Sister Raphael McGrath, the Saint Agnes Hospice program was the first of its kind in the San Joaquin Valley. Since then, terminally ill patients and their families have been able to call upon the resources of Saint Agnes Hospice to offer peace-of-mind care and support, pain management and comfort over curative care at home. Working under the direction of the patient's physician, the Saint Agnes Hospice care team assists with care and provides pain management and symptom control, including emotional, psychological, social and spiritual support for patients and their families. Our compassionate and professional interdisciplinary team comprises physicians, nurses, social workers, hospice aides, bereavement counselors, spiritual care providers and volunteers. Other Saint Agnes Hospice team members may include pharmacists, dietary counselors and therapy professionals who help enhance the patient's quality of life.
